Sylk product range on shelf of plants

Who we are

Sylk is a small, family run company and we are very ethical in our approach to business.

We are passionate about intimate well-being and helping women to feel confident and healthy as well as supporting the health professionals who care for them. This is the reason we launched our Sylk Bursary in conjunction with The UK Menopause Group to fund educational initiatives for nurses. We also love partnering with relevant charities and a few years ago ran a year long promotion with The Eve Appeal  where we donated 7p from every pack sold to this amazing charity that funds research into the causes of gynaecological cancer.

Sylk UK was founded by our parents back in the 1990’s following time spent living and working in New Zealand where they discovered this amazing product. They quickly established a reputation amongst UK consumers and health professionals and Sylk was the first NATURAL lubricant to gain prescription status in 1997 at the recommendation of many leading medical establishments.

Since then the brand and company have grown and following our parents retirement in 2007, my siblings and I have run the business along with our incredible Sylk team.

Nicky Gaylor, Marketing Director

Nicky Gaylor, Director of Sylk Ltd UKWith over 12 years experience working in Advertising at top London agencies including Triangle and Billington Cartmell (now Hey Human), I was delighted to join Sylk as Marketing Director in 2007. This coincided with the birth of my first child and provided the perfect work/life balance for this next chapter of my life. Now on the verge of being peri–menopausal with a daughter who is pre-pubescent, I have a real understanding of the health issues that women face as they age and a huge interest in driving awareness of the menopause and the products that can really help make a difference.

Nicola Davies, Communications

Nicola Davies Sylk TeamJoining the Sylk Team five years ago felt like a really natural step for me. My background in business administration and communications combined with my interest in women’s health issues made working with Sylk a great fit. I’ve always had a real interest and passion for women’s health. Growing up with a gynae nurse for a mother will do that to you! Talking about women’s issues was completely normal part of daily life in our house, so I’m determined to put women’s health on the map, and keep the conversation going.
